I've included for you my Investing/Trading journey.
It was May 2014 shortly after joining the MFin. program at UoN. The idea was to use FA to identify growth stocks in Kenya for capital gains, but rather accrued capital losses.
This loss affirmed I knew, not enough. Nothing I deemed academically sensible, was working. And something had to give - venture out. 3 years later, I had an equities trading system I believed in.
Testing wise, not much was observed at the NSE - which I surmised was due to its smallness, value wise. At NYSE, things were adding up but in an unclear fashion. Soon later, COVID-19 hit and received margin calls, annihilating the trading capital.
Switched to FX, and developed a price-action system, which I later realized only worked in hindsight.
For quite a while, the returns remained negative. Turned break-even at some point. Then, eventually turned. A phase that involved lots of trial and error, but mostly inner work.
